Celebrating Poila Boishakh: A Tapestry of Tradition and Renewal On the auspicious occasion of Poila Boishakh, the inaugural day of the Bengali New Year, our colony, Chittaranjan Park, comes alive with vibrant festivities. Falling typically on the 14th or 15th of April each year, this day is a jubilant celebration of everything quintessentially Bengali - from deep spirituality to culinary delights, from artistic expression to traditional attire, and of course, the timeless tradition of Bengali adda.  One of the highlights of this day is the observance of Haal Khata, a festival where Bengali businessmen, shopkeepers, and traders gather to close the accounts of the past year and embark on a fresh ledger, symbolizing a new beginning.
