Independence Day holds immense significance as a
commemoration of a nation's liberation and self-determination. It symbolizes
the hard-fought struggle for freedom from colonial rule or oppressive regimes,
highlighting the sacrifices and resilience of those who paved the way for a
sovereign existence. Beyond its historical importance, Independence Day serves
as a reminder of the values of democracy, liberty, and unity that citizens
cherish, while also prompting reflection on the ongoing efforts needed to
uphold these principles and secure a prosperous future for generations to come.
On the morning of 15th August, 2023, the vibrant colours of
patriotism, united voices echoing eternal freedom, the poignant remembrances of
unparalelled sacrifices, pulsated across the colony on the morning of 15th
August, 2023. The day was marked with celebrations commemorating the day in
almost every block, park, school and ground.
Tricolours of various sizes fluttered in the morning breeze,
visible between tall trees, roof tops, verandahs and building tops. Har Ghar
Tiranga has also caught on with almost every house proudly flying the National
Flag.
Singing patriotic songs in unison, and distributing sweets,
snacks and tea wound up the celebrations.
Children were re-oriented about the importance of the day and
adults reminisced the day with pride and respect for the colours of supreme
sacrifices that shone brightly on the Tricolour.
Tapovan, the park managed by SIGN, resonated with the
National Anthem and myriad other patriotic songs accompanied by the busy
chirping of birds, squirrels bounding about the scattered rocks, stones and
undulating terrain, under the dense green canopy of the tall trees inhabiting
the park, weaving the colours of freedom naturally into its fabric.
C R Park Speaks wishes all readers an enlightened, promising
and happy Independence Day.
