SECURITY BREACH AT CHITTARANJAN PARK RESIDENCE

ARMED THIEF ENTERS F 1180 GROUND FLOOR IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT !!!

There was an  armed attempt of theft in F 1180, on 12th August night where there was only a 94 year old bed ridden lady and her attendant. The thief entered the house with a knife and was roaming around inside the house for more than 30 minutes.

The family was out of station. Despite repeated calls to CR PARK Police station, no one responded. The family just helplessly watched the show on their CCTV. After repeated calling to the station, an extremely sleepy person picked up the call and hurriedly told the caller to dial 0 after a number and disconnected. Finally an ex- beat officer of CR Park, whose number was with them came to their rescue and sent a constable. The RWA too responded and called the colony guards.

However, the time taken to reach the site from the time of call was almost 35-40 minutes, and what was scary was that the thief did not run away but kept roaming inside the house even when he knew that the attendant had run away and gone to get help from the residents staying on the floors above.

What is the whole idea of having a police station if they prefer sleeping in the station than attending phone calls?? There is no updated data of the block wise beat constables on duty within the colony. THE NAMES AND NUMBERS OF BEAT OFFICERS MUST BE DISPLAYED ON THE GATES OF EVERY LANE IN EVERY BLOCK. EVERY RWA MUST TAKE UP THIS JOB ON EMERGENCY BASIS.

Such an incident can happen with anyone's parents or anyone's house. So let us not shrug it off thinking, it has happened with someone else, and not with us.

Can such a database be created and updated regularly? Needless to say, the majority population of the colony being senior citizens, there is no way, that their security is monitored. Only CCTV cameras are of no use unless they are regularly monitored and any suspicious activity is noticed or relevant action taken.

It is urgently required for such a database to be created. The RWAs and EBDP please take this up on an urgent basis and kindly circulate the created database at the earliest before any unforgiving instance occurs in the colony.

Tyre thefts have anyways become a regular feature, with another incident reported just 2-3 days back in the colony. It is clear that the cops are least interested in the safety and security of the colony. If the police station is unable to handle or is not willing to manage the security of the colony, then it is up to us, residents, to make sure the regular security breaches within the colony are immediately reported, in unison, to the higher echelons of the Delhi Police.

Can we all together, in unison, call a joint meeting of the DP and the RWAs immediately? Can EBDP kindly take up this responsibility and call out this meeting within the next 7 days please? An early response will be really obligatory. Let us all not let such an incident happen with anyone else.
