50TH CELEBRATION OF POUSH MELA

INVITATION FOR ALL TO COME AND PARTICIPATE IN THE 50TH POUSH MELA CELEBRATION AT MELA GROUND CR PARK

Chittaranjan Park Bangiya Samaj is celebrating the Golden Jubilee of its oldest signature event - Poush Mela. Mela Ground, the ground which got its name from this flagship event, is gearing up on a mammoth scale to bring in the festivities on a grand scale.

The 3- day event, from 10th-12th January 2025, is packed with back to back events. Starting from 10th January at 6 pm, the schedule of events have been carefully curated to present a visual tapestry of the socio-cultural fabric of the Society.

11th and 12th January will see a plethora of events depicting the ubiquitous yet distinctive “Bangaliana” in all its glory - culture, food and music.

Daytime events include “Food Festivals”, “traditional song and dance performances by “Baul”, “Chau” and “Bihu” performers straight from Bengal and Assam, depicting the celebration of the “Harvest Season” of rice and the harvest of “Nolen Gur” or date jaggery, which is a speciality of winter in Bengal.

A bevy of celebrities are descending in the colony to serenade the residents with scintillating musical performances across the 3 days of festivities.

The most special aspect of the celebration is a unique event - Bangiya Samaj will be felicitating the Founder members and their families, as a token of appreciation and gratitude for founding the Society 54 years back in 1970.

Not to be missed out. Will be the huge array of stalls with the most diverse display of food, apparel, jewellery and handicrafts.

Promising to be a whole lot of fun and frolic, Poush Mela is eagerly waiting for you all to be a part of this landmark celebration.
